US Signals Willingness To Support Iranians As Protests Escalate

Former US President Donald Trump declared that the United States stood ready to help Iranians, sharing the message on social media as reports described intensifying protests and tightened security across Iran.

“Iran is looking at FREEDOM, perhaps like never before. The USA stands ready to help!!!” Trump wrote in a post.

“Protester scales Iranian Embassy in London, tears down regime flag, hoists pre-revolution symbol,” he shared another message pointing to a protest abroad.

American newspapers and television networks reported that demonstrations persisted in several parts of Iran despite severe restrictions on communication. According to these accounts, authorities imposed sweeping internet controls that limited the flow of information from within the country.

Meanwhile, Persian-language media operating outside Iran circulated video footage showing gatherings in multiple cities. However, journalists cautioned that the near-complete internet blackout made independent verification of these visuals extremely difficult.

Fox News reported that Iranian authorities sharply curtailed internet access nationwide. Quoting monitoring organisations and digital experts, the network said connectivity levels fell to extremely low points, disrupting essential services and isolating the population from the outside world.

Alongside the shutdown, reports indicated an increased security presence in several urban areas. Protesters, according to US media, called for fundamental political change, with some openly displaying symbols linked to Iran’s former monarchy.

Reports of Arrests and Casualties

Human rights groups cited by US outlets said security forces arrested protesters and caused fatalities while attempting to suppress demonstrations. These reports suggested that clashes erupted in multiple cities as authorities sought to regain control of the situation.

Separately, The New York Times reported that Trump has received recent briefings on potential military options involving Iran. The paper said he is considering these possibilities as he reviews earlier warnings directed at Tehran over its handling of protests.

Trump’s follow-up post brought renewed attention to the London embassy protest, which American media described as a striking act of solidarity by the Iranian diaspora.

Fox News said a protester scaled the Iranian Embassy building in Kensington, tore down the Islamic Republic’s flag, and replaced it with a pre-revolutionary emblem before police intervened.

According to the report, the demonstration reflected growing activism among Iranians abroad as unrest inside Iran attracted increased global focus.

The Washington Post reported that protests continued inside Iran despite stern warnings from senior leaders. Quoting official statements, the paper said Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei told the nation that the government would not ‘back down’ against what he described as acts of vandalism.

At the same time, state television urged citizens to remain indoors and suggested that those injured during the unrest should refrain from complaining.

Previously, Trump warned Iranian authorities against killing protesters, while other US officials publicly voiced support for demonstrators and praised their resolve.
