US Presidential Polls: Support Crumbles For Joe Biden Candidacy

Democrats believe it’s only a matter of days before President Joe Biden withdraws from the 2024 Presidential Race. Biden, who continues to be the face of the Democratic Party, is encountering dissent from within his party.

Opposition to Biden’s candidacy intensified following his first debate with Republican nominee Donald Trump. The debate proved disastrous for the 81-year-old Biden, raising questions about his age. His physical and mental abilities for the nation’s top job.

Calls for a change in the Democratic ticket persist, with over a dozen Democrats and House representatives joining their colleagues in asking President Biden to step aside.

In the past two days, a series of media leaks and private statements revealed that top Democratic leaders, including former President Barack Obama, have urged Biden to reconsider his bid for the presidency. Veteran leaders Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer have also expressed concerns to Biden.

The shift in donor sentiment and waning support among Democrats suggests that Biden’s candidacy is becoming unviable, prompting even his strongest supporters to push him to rethink his decision.

However, Biden’s campaign chair, Jen O’Malley Dillon, stated, “He’s not going anywhere,” and emphasized that he remains the best person to take on Donald Trump.

Donald Trump Accepts Republican Nomination

Donald Trump formally accepted the Republican nomination on the last day of the Republican National Convention. “I Am Running To Be President For All Of America, Not Half Of America,” Trump declared during his acceptance speech.

The week following the assassination attempt on former President Trump resulted in overwhelming support for his re-election bid. His arch-rivals, Nikki Haley and Ron DeSantis, pledged their support for him in the 2024 polls.

Recent polls show that Donald Trump leads Biden by margins in Republican states and swing states, and he appears poised to make gains in the swing states as well.
