US President Donald Trump on Wednesday warned Iran that continued defiance could provoke unprecedented US military action, potentially reducing key infrastructure to the ‘Stone Age’ within weeks. He claimed that US forces had already achieved rapid battlefield gains during Operation Epic Fury, which began just a month ago, targeting the nation he described as the world’s leading sponsor of terrorism.
Trump detailed the current state of Iran’s military, asserting that its Navy had been destroyed, the Air Force crippled, missile and drone capabilities curtailed, and weapons facilities demolished.
He framed the campaign as essential to prevent nuclear proliferation, stating, “I have vowed that I would never allow Iran to have a nuclear weapon,” and described the regime as ‘the most violent and thuggish on Earth’.
The President noted that previous US strikes, including Operation Midnight Hammer, had already neutralised nuclear sites, while Iran attempted to rebuild its programmes elsewhere.
The objectives of US action, he said, are to dismantle Iran’s military reach and curb its power projection beyond its borders, with core strategic goals nearing completion.
Trump warned that further escalation could target civilian infrastructure, including electricity networks, if negotiations falter.
While regime change was not the declared aim, President Trump indicated leadership shifts had already occurred due to the deaths of senior officials. He also linked recent rises in global oil prices to Iranian attacks on commercial tankers, urging countries dependent on Middle Eastern oil to secure shipping routes and diversify energy sources.
Trump praised regional allies, highlighted US energy strength, honoured 13 fallen service members, and said the campaign is nearing an end to Iran’s threat.
