Ukraine’s Air Force successfully shot down 27 of the 44 Shahed-131 and Shahed-136 drones launched by Russia overnight, according to a statement on the social media platform Telegram. The Ukrainian Air Force reported that eight drones vanished from radar screens, while one drone headed towards the Russia-held area in the Donetsk region.
As of Friday morning, several drones remained within Ukrainian airspace, the Air Force added. In addition to the drone assault, Russia launched Kh-59 guided missiles and Kh-31P anti-radiation missiles at Ukraine, Xinhua news agency reported.

In Pavlograd, a town in the central Dnipropetrovsk region, one person was killed and 30 others were injured due to the attack, said regional governor Sergii Lysak.
The Kyiv region also activated air defense measures, but officials from the Kyiv Regional Military Administration reported no casualties or damage to critical infrastructure or housing.
In Kharkiv, a missile attack damaged residential buildings in Liubotyn and injured three people, according to the region’s governor. Lysak confirmed that the Air Force intercepted five drones and one missile over the region.
The central region experienced various attacks overnight, resulting in two injuries, damage to over 12 homes, and disruptions to power lines and gas pipelines, Lysak reported.
In Lviv, drone debris fell in an industrial zone, igniting four trucks. Firefighters, numbering 32, extinguished the blaze by Friday morning, and no injuries were reported.
In the southern region of Mykolaiv, another fire caused by falling debris was extinguished after the Air Force shot down seven drones, according to the regional governor.
