Trump Vows Middle East Peace & Anti-Semitism Crackdown In 2024 Campaign Pledge

Former US President Donald Trump made a bold commitment on Friday, promising to bring peace to the Middle East and to curb the rise of anti-Semitism in the United States if he secures another term in the White House.

This declaration followed a meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

In a statement from his campaign, Trump expressed unwavering support for Israel in the wake of the heinous 7 October attack.

He emphasized his dedication to making every effort to bring peace to the Middle East and preventing the spread of anti-Semitism on college campuses across the United States.

Israeli PM Netanyahu, in response, extended his gratitude to Trump for his administration’s significant contributions to regional stability.

These achievements included the historic Abraham Accords, the relocation of the US Embassy to Jerusalem, recognition of Israeli sovereignty over the Golan Heights, the elimination of Iranian General Qasem Soleimani, the termination of the Iran Nuclear Deal, and efforts to combat anti-Semitism both domestically and internationally.

Trump and Netanyahu shared a warm moment at Mar-a-Lago in Florida, a gathering documented in a video posted on Trump’s social media platform, Truth Social.

Duo Reflect On Close Ties & Key Decisions During Trump’s First Term

The two leaders reminisced about their close relationship during Trump’s first term, marked by pivotal moves such as the US embassy’s relocation and the recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital, despite its contested status with the Palestinians.

Trump also highlighted the Golan Heights recognition and the groundbreaking Abraham Accords, which facilitated the normalization of Israel’s relations with Bahrain and the UAE.

However, their relationship experienced strain in early 2021 when Netanyahu quickly congratulated President Joe Biden on his electoral victory, a result Trump continues to contest.

Netanyahu, known for his keen interest in US politics, has often engaged with American political affairs.

Recently, he has had disputes with President Biden over military support for Israel.

Netanyahu’s meeting with Trump may indicate his strategic positioning for a potential Trump return to the presidency, a prospect being watched closely by international observers.
