US President Donald Trump announced that the United States and Iran had reached an agreement to reopen the Strait of Hormuz and remove the US naval blockade, describing the development as a major diplomatic breakthrough after months of regional tensions.

In a series of social media posts, Trump said the agreement would restore shipping through one of the world’s most strategically important waterways and help stabilise energy supplies.
