Tragic Flash Flood And Mudslide Hit Sichuan Province

A devastating flash flood and mudslide struck Ridi Village early Saturday morning, resulting in two fatalities, eight injuries, and leaving 12 people unaccounted for.

Local authorities reported the catastrophe, which has triggered a significant emergency response. According to Xinhua news agency, the disaster struck with little warning, sweeping through the village and causing extensive damage.

The eight individuals who were injured have been promptly transported to nearby hospitals for treatment. In the wake of the disaster, more than 300 residents have been evacuated from the affected area to ensure their safety.

Emergency rescue teams are currently engaged in ongoing efforts to locate the missing individuals and assess the full extent of the damage. The scale of the flooding and landslides has posed significant challenges to rescue operations, but efforts are being coordinated by local emergency services and disaster relief teams.

Authorities are urging the public to stay clear of the affected area as rescue operations continue. Further updates will be provided as the situation develops.
