The NCG summit and the USS Kentucky’s deployment, according to South Korea’s Ministry of National Defence. They were “just defensive countermeasures” against the North’s nuclear and missile threats.
The South Korean ministry issued a statement saying, “North Korea will not receive any concessions from the South Korea-US alliance for its nuclear development and threats, which will only result in greater isolation and hardships.”
A US soldier entered North Korea on Tuesday during a period of heightened tension.
North Korea has not yet responded to the story of the US soldier’s incident.
North Korea established a comprehensive nuclear law in 2022. They confirmed its status as a nuclear-armed state with no plans to reverse it.
Ankit Panda from the US-based Carnegie Endowment for International Peace said that the latest submarine visit fits with the criteria. The law permits various scenarios in which nuclear use may be possible.
However, Panda believes that they are trying to convince Washington. Not to schedule any more assurance performances of this kind for South Koreans.
