Russia’s Lipetsk Municipal District has declared a state of emergency following a series of explosions triggered by a Ukrainian drone attack. Lipetsk Governor Igor Artamonov announced the decision on Friday.
Artamonov used his Telegram channel to inform the public about the evacuation. “To eliminate the consequences of the detonation of explosive objects, a state of emergency is being introduced on the territory of the Lipetsk Municipal District. To ensure the safety of residents, it was decided to evacuate the settlements: Koptsevy Khutor, Fedorovka, Yakovlevka, Tynkovka,” he stated.

The Ukrainian drone attack caused significant explosions in civilian areas of Lipetsk, a city located about 370 kilometers south of Moscow. The blasts damaged several buildings and impacted local infrastructure. Specifically, an energy infrastructure facility was hit, leading to power outages across the region.
Artamonov urged residents to follow the instructions given by emergency services. “Temporary accommodation and transport arrangements are being made to assist those affected,” he said.
Authorities are working to address the damage and restore services as quickly as possible. The evacuation aims to protect residents from further risks associated with the explosive remnants and damaged infrastructure.
