Several Rockets Launched From Gaza Towards Israel

On Saturday, dozens of rockets were fired from the blockaded Gaza Strip into Israel amid sirens in Israel warned of impending firing.

The rockets were launched from several sites in Gaza beginning at 06:30 a.m. (0330 GMT).

For more than an hour, the Israeli army sent siren warnings across the country’s south and central regions, asking residents to remain near bomb shelters.

The military also stated that a number of terrorists have infiltrated Israeli territory from the Gaza Strip, but did not elaborate.

In a second incident, medics reported that a 20-year-old man was moderately hurt by shrapnel.

The office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that the premier will convene security chiefs over the violence.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the rocket launch.

Since 2007, when the Hamas militant group took power in Gaza, Israel has imposed a crushing siege.

Since then, Palestinian militants and Israel have fought multiple destructive conflicts.
