Saudi Arabia Security Alert: Indian Embassy Opens 24×7 Control Room, Issues Advisory

The Indian Embassy in Riyadh on Tuesday advised Indian nationals in Saudi Arabia to remain vigilant, stay indoors during aerial attacks and follow local authorities’ instructions.

The Embassy has opened a 24×7 control room to provide emergency assistance amid the evolving situation.

In its advisory, the Embassy urged Indians to remain calm and obtain updates through official channels. It strongly discouraged them from circulating or reposting videos and news related to the ongoing events.

The Embassy advised Indian nationals to maintain contact with their airlines and verify flight schedules before travelling. Those facing emergencies and seeking to leave Saudi Arabia may consider flights from neighbouring Gulf countries, particularly Qatar and Bahrain, subject to visa requirements.

The Embassy said four Indians injured in the October 10 attack on Riyadh airport remain in intensive care, while four others are receiving treatment in general wards. Three injured nationals have been discharged.

Embassy officials continue visiting hospitals, coordinating with medical teams and supporting the injured Indians’ families.

The funeral rites of Mohammed Yousuf Ali, who died in the attack, concluded in Riyadh on October 12, in accordance with his family’s wishes. The Indian Ambassador and Embassy officials attended the ceremony.

On October 11, India condemned the attack on Saudi Arabia’s King Khalid International Airport.

The Ministry of External Affairs called attacks on civilians and civilian infrastructure ‘completely unacceptable’. It demanded an immediate end to hostilities.

India expressed solidarity with Saudi Arabia and called for the restoration of peace and normalcy across the region.

Saudi Arabia’s General Authority of Civil Aviation reported on October 10 that the attack targeting King Khalid International Airport had killed 12 people and injured 309 others.
