A nine-member Indian parliamentary delegation, headed by BJP MP Ravi Shankar Prasad, is set to visit Denmark on Thursday following a successful diplomatic outreach mission in Italy.
The delegation aims to carry forward India’s message of zero tolerance toward terrorism, with a special focus on Operation Sindoor and Pakistan-sponsored cross-border terrorism.
The delegation reflects a wide political consensus on India’s foreign policy and counterterrorism stance.
Members include BJP leaders Daggubati Purandeswari, Ghulam Ali Khatana, and Samik Bhattacharya; Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Priyanka Chaturvedi; Congress MP Amar Singh; AIADMK leader M Thambidurai; former Union Minister MJ Akbar; and former Ambassador Pankaj Saran.
In Copenhagen, the Indian delegation will meet with Danish parliamentarians, political party representatives, journalists, and the Indian community.
The primary objective is to communicate India’s resolute position against global terrorism and build international consensus around combating cross-border threats.
While in Italy, the delegation engaged with key political leaders, think tanks, and media agencies to explain India’s anti-terrorism strategy.
One of the notable interactions was with Senator Stefania Craxi, Chairperson of the Italian Senate’s Foreign Affairs and Defence Committee.
The meeting, however, focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation to address terrorism globally.
“During our visit to Italy, my colleagues from the all-party delegation and I had the privilege of meeting Senator @stefaniacraxi, Chair of the Senate’s Foreign Affairs and Defence Committee,” Ravi Shankar Prasad posted on X.
The post further added, “We apprised her of India’s firm stance against terrorism in all its forms, underscoring our zero-tolerance policy towards cross-border terrorism. Senator Craxi echoed our sentiments, emphasizing the need for a unified global response to terrorism and proposing enhanced cooperation between India and Italy to tackle this pressing challenge.”
The delegation met the Indian diaspora in Italy, recognising their role in ties with Italy and support for India’s anti-terrorism stance.
The delegation’s European outreach under Operation Sindoor, however, continues to build diplomatic momentum for India’s message of global peace and security.
India aims to rally European support for its zero-tolerance terrorism policy and global leadership role.
