President Trump Signals Possible Renewed Strikes On Iran While Slowing Push For Deal

US President Donald Trump has said the United States could carry out further military action against Iran if ongoing talks fail, while making clear he is not rushing to secure an agreement.

The US President stated that a deal could be reached quickly but emphasised that he prefers a lasting outcome rather than a short-term arrangement. He added that military operations could resume to target remaining objectives if Iran does not agree to the terms.

Trump’s remarks came after a pause in fighting following a US-led campaign. He said the campaign significantly damaged Iran’s military capabilities.

The US President added that strikes have already hit about 75 per cent of the intended targets, including naval, air and missile systems.

The President said the United States maintains control over the Strait of Hormuz, a key global oil route. He further added that restricted access limits Iran’s oil income.

According to Trump, reopening the passage would allow Tehran to generate hundreds of millions of dollars daily.

The President further claimed that Iran’s leadership situation remains unstable following the strikes. He described internal competition for power within the country.

Although he had earlier suggested the conflict might end within weeks, Trump declined to set any deadline, saying there is sufficient time and that economic pressure is increasingly weighing on Iran. He acknowledged that Americans may face a temporary rise in fuel costs but described it as a necessary step to prevent Iran from developing nuclear weapons.

Reiterating his position, Trump said Iran would not obtain a nuclear bomb. At the same time, he ruled out the use of nuclear weapons by the United States.

Trump also said that a US appeal would spare eight women in Iran from execution. He added that Iran would instead release them.

The comments underline a strategy that combines continued military pressure with the option of diplomacy. Washington insists that any agreement must permanently restrict Iran’s nuclear ambitions.
