President Trump Congratulates PM Narendra Modi On BJP’s Historic Bengal Victory

US President Donald Trump congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi on what the White House described as a historic and decisive election victory in West Bengal.

The message followed a recent phone conversation in which Trump expressed admiration for Prime Minister Modi’s leadership and said India was fortunate to have him.

White House spokesman Kush Desai confirmed the congratulatory message.

The Bharatiya Janata Party secured a landmark victory in West Bengal, marking its first control of the state. The result ended the 15-year rule of Mamata Banerjee and her Trinamool Congress.

The outcome represents a major political gain for PM Modi and strengthens his position during his third term in office.

Addressing supporters in New Delhi, Prime Minister Modi stated, “A new chapter has been added to Bengal’s destiny. People’s power has prevailed, and the BJP’s politics of good governance has triumphed. I bow to every person of West Bengal.”

International media described the victory as a breakthrough in one of India’s most challenging political regions.

Analysts attributed the result to anti-incumbency sentiment and a well-organised campaign by the BJP.

Political expert Rahul Verma of the Centre for Policy Research termed it the culmination of a sustained multi-year strategy. He noted the party’s strong organisational network and PM Modi’s leadership appeal.

Observers also highlighted consolidation of voter support as a contributing factor.

West Bengal, traditionally dominated by regional and left-oriented politics, now reflects a significant shift in India’s electoral landscape.

The outcome signals changing political dynamics and reinforces the BJP’s expanding national footprint across key states.
