President Trump Backs ‘Final Offer’ To Iran After Nuclear Talks Collapse

US President Donald Trump has backed a ‘final and best offer’ to Iran following the collapse of high-level nuclear negotiations held in Islamabad, signalling a critical moment in ongoing diplomatic efforts.

Vice President JD Vance said the United States presented a clear proposal after nearly 21 hours of intensive talks but failed to reach an agreement, adding that key differences remained despite substantive engagement.

Vance highlighted the President’s direct involvement throughout the negotiations, emphasising that the team remained in constant contact with the White House. He said the administration had approached the discussions in good faith while maintaining firm boundaries.

Despite sustained efforts, the two sides failed to bridge gaps, particularly over Iran’s nuclear programme.

The US reiterated its demand for a clear and lasting commitment from Iran to refrain from pursuing nuclear weapons capabilities.

According to Vance, Washington is seeking long-term assurances rather than temporary guarantees, stressing the importance of a fundamental commitment that extends beyond immediate timelines. He also pointed to close coordination with the broader national security team during the talks, underscoring a unified approach to the negotiations.

While specific sticking points were not disclosed, Vance maintained that the US side demonstrated flexibility but ultimately made no significant progress.
