Pope Leo XIV Offers Birthday Blessings To PM Modi From Vatican City

Marking a unique moment of spiritual diplomacy, His Holiness Pope Leo XIV extended heartfelt blessings to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the occasion of his 75th birthday.

The Pope prayed for PM Modi’s long life and good health during the weekly Papal Audience held at the iconic St Peter’s Square in Vatican City, where around 30,000 people had gathered.

This traditional Wednesday gathering allows pilgrims and visitors to receive teachings and blessings from the head of the Catholic Church.

It was during this sacred assembly that the Indian Minorities Federation (IMF) delegation met with Pope Leo XIV and presented him with a portrait of PM Modi.

A Symbolic Gesture of Peace and Unity

The IMF delegation was led by Member of Parliament Satnam Singh Sandhu, accompanied by former diplomat and MP Harsh Vardhan Shringla, as well as IMF Convener Prof Himani Sood.

The highlight of their meeting was the Pope’s blessing of PM Modi’s portrait, a symbolic act reflecting mutual respect between India and the Vatican.

MP Satnam Singh Sandhu also presented the Pope with a book titled ‘Heart to Heart: Reverence of Saga’, which details Prime Minister Modi’s enduring connection with the Sikh community.

The gesture was received with warmth and appreciation, highlighting the Prime Minister’s inclusive leadership and respect for all faiths.

The Indian Minorities Federation’s visit underscores growing efforts to foster religious harmony and interfaith cooperation.

Pope Leo XIV recognises India’s diverse cultural fabric and acknowledges PM Modi’s leadership in promoting unity across communities during the audience.

He delivers the blessing before thousands in the heart of the Catholic world, sending a powerful message of peace and spiritual solidarity. It also serves as a testament to India’s rising global presence and the soft diplomacy fostered through such faith-based engagements.

This momentous blessing from Pope Leo XIV on PM Modi’s milestone birthday not only reflects mutual respect between religious and political spheres but also paves the way for strengthened relations between India and the Holy See.

As PM Modi continues to champion India’s cultural heritage and global cooperation, this gesture from the Vatican adds a profound spiritual dimension to the Prime Minister’s leadership journey.
