PM Narendra Modi To Attend 3rd India-Nordic Summit In Oslo

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will participate in the 3rd India-Nordic Summit in Oslo on Tuesday, aimed at expanding India’s strategic partnership with Nordic nations in key sectors such as technology, renewable energy, sustainability, defence and trade.

The summit is expected to strengthen cooperation between India and the Nordic region while promoting innovation and economic collaboration.

According to the Ministry of External Affairs, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will join the leaders of Norway, Denmark, Finland, Iceland and Sweden at the 3rd India-Nordic Summit in Oslo.

The summit will build on earlier meetings held in Stockholm in 2018 and Copenhagen in 2022, with a focus on strengthening cooperation in green energy, clean technology, innovation, sustainability, blue economy, space and Arctic initiatives.

Ahead of the summit, PM Modi attended the India-Norway Business and Research Summit in Oslo, where he highlighted growing economic ties after the implementation of the India-EFTA Trade and Economic Partnership Agreement.

More than 250 delegates, including CEOs from over 50 Indian and Norwegian companies, attended the event, where both sides signed several business agreements.

PM Modi arrived in Norway on Monday during the fourth leg of his five-nation tour. Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre welcomed him at the airport along with senior officials.

During the visit, PM Modi met King Harald V in Oslo and discussed cooperation in emerging technologies and business sectors. He also praised Norway’s natural beauty and shared democratic values.

Norway later honoured PM Modi with the Grand Cross of the Royal Norwegian Order of Merit for strengthening India-Norway ties and global cooperation.
