PM Modi’s Kuwait Visit: Meets 101-Year-Old Mangal Sain Handa; Receives Arabic Translations Of Ramayana & Mahabharata

On Saturday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi was given a grand reception by the Indian community in Kuwait as he arrived for his two-day visit, marking the first visit by an Indian Prime Minister to the Gulf nation in 43 years.

The Indian diaspora greeted the PM’s arrival with excitement and enthusiasm.

Kuwait Visit: PM Modi Meets 101-Year-Old Mangal Sain Handa

Among those who greeted the Prime Minister was 101-year-old Mangal Sain Handa, a retired Indian Foreign Service (IFS) officer. Handa, who served in countries such as Kuwait, the UK, Iraq, China, Argentina, and Cambodia, now resides in Kuwait.

The Prime Minister took the time to meet Handa, exchanging greetings and posing for photos with him and his family.

The meeting came after Handa’s granddaughter, Shreya Juneja, posted a request on social media asking PM Modi to meet her grandfather during his visit.

PM Modi, known for his personal touch with the Indian diaspora, responded to her post just before his departure, saying, “Absolutely! I look forward to meeting
@MangalSainHanda Ji in Kuwait today.”

PM Modi Receives Arabic Translations Of Ramayana & Mahabharata

During his visit, Abdullah Baron, a renowned translator, and publisher Abdullateef Alnesef presented the Prime Minister with Arabic translations of the Ramayana and Mahabharata.

In his departure statement, PM Modi expressed his eagerness to engage with the Indian community in Kuwait, the largest expatriate group in the country.

“I eagerly look forward to meeting the Indian diaspora in Kuwait who have immensely contributed to the strengthening of bonds of friendship between the two nations,” the Prime Minister asserted.

During his two-day visit to the West Asian nation, the Prime Minister will interact with the Indian diaspora at a community event and also visit a labor camp.
