The two Prime Ministers toured an exhibition featuring modern sports equipment and innovative technologies.
Reflecting on the event, PM Modi said the display illustrated how innovation and technological advancements are reshaping global sport while creating new opportunities for collaboration between India and New Zealand.
The Auckland programme followed PM Modi’s recent participation in an event celebrating India-Australia sporting relations at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. He attended the programme alongside Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and Victorian Premier Jacinta Allan as part of efforts to strengthen international cooperation through sport.
During the visit, the leaders met young participants competing in exhibition matches of cricket, kabaddi, and Australian rules football.
The event also welcomed several renowned sporting figures, including former Australian captain Steve Waugh and ex-cricketer Lisa Sthalekar.
Looking towards the future, PM Modi said the next decade presents an ideal opportunity to expand sporting collaboration. He pointed out that India is preparing to host the 2030 Commonwealth Games, while Australia will welcome the world for the 2032 Brisbane Olympic Games, opening new avenues for partnership across sport and associated industries.
