Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Sunday that his visit to the Netherlands has given a fresh impetus to bilateral relations. He thanked PM Rob Jetten for the warm reception and for personally seeing him off at the airport.
PM Modi also expressed confidence that ties between the two nations will continue to strengthen in the years ahead.
Sharing glimpses of his visit on X, PM Modi posted, “My Netherlands visit has added new momentum to India-Netherlands ties. From elevating our relationship to a Strategic Partnership to expanding cooperation in water resources, semiconductors, innovation, defence, sustainability and mobility, we have charted an ambitious roadmap for the future.”
“I express my gratitude to PM Rob Jetten for the warm hospitality and for personally coming to the airport to bid farewell. I am confident that the friendship between India and the Netherlands will continue to grow stronger in the years to come,” the post read.
In a special gesture, PM Rob Jetten personally saw off PM Modi at the airport as he departed for Sweden after concluding his visit.
Earlier in the day, both leaders visited the iconic Afsluitdijk, which represents Dutch excellence in water management, flood protection, and freshwater storage.
On Saturday, PM Modi met PM Rob Jetten at the Catshuis in The Hague, as stated by the Ministry of External Affairs.
Highlighting cultural ties, PM Modi thanked the Netherlands government for facilitating the return of the 11th-century Chola plates.
Both sides also welcomed cooperation between Leiden University Library and the Archaeological Survey of India to enhance knowledge of these historic artefacts.
The visit reflected a shared commitment to deepening engagement and expanding cooperation across strategic areas.
With stronger ties and a clear roadmap, both nations are positioned to further advance their partnership globally.
