Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Kuala Lumpur on Saturday, where he was warmly received at the airport by his Malaysian counterpart, PM Anwar Ibrahim.

The two-day visit aims to further strengthen bilateral relations and advance the India–Malaysia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.

Children waving the Indian tricolour and the Malaysian flag welcomed the Prime Minister, reflecting the warmth and goodwill that mark ties between the two nations.

Ahead of his visit, PM Modi said discussions would focus on deepening defence and security cooperation, while also expanding economic and innovation partnerships.

This marks Prime Minister Modi’s third visit to Malaysia and his first since both countries elevated bilateral ties to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in August 2024.

In his departure statement, the Prime Minister noted that historic ties between India and Malaysia have made steady progress in recent years.
