While most North Korean youngsters were at school, Kim Jong Un’s preteen daughter was with her father watching a test of a new missile meant to obliterate a US city in a nuclear strike.
North Korea has not revealed whether she has siblings. Her exact age is unknown. Her name is unknown to the rest of the world, but she has been a basic of the state’s propaganda apparatus since November.
She has appeared with her father while he shoots weapons, dines with generals, and leads parades of thousands of goose-stepping soldiers.
South Korea’s spy service believes the ‘precious child’ and ‘respected daughter’ pictured in state media on Friday are the same person.
State media on Friday unveiled new images of the precious child and respected daughter – presumed by South Korea’s spy service to be named Ju Ae and around 10 years old.
She is pictured sitting next to her father, who has a cigarette in his hand and appears to be watching a new sort of intercontinental ballistic missile flying through the skies.
This was her third time accompanying her father to an ICBM test. She and her mother were also honored guests at a banquet of top military commanders in February, which coincided with a major military march through Pyongyang’s streets. When she brushed her father’s face in front of a crowd of hundreds of thousands, she took center stage for a brief minute at the parade, displaying a more human side to her father, who has been criticized in the West as a cruel tyrant.
