Israeli Soldier’s Chilling Texts To Family Before Fatal Hamas Attack

Corporal Naama Boni, a 19-year-old soldier serving in the 77th Battalion of the Armored Corps, was on duty when a sudden and devastating attack was launched by the Hamas group. The attack was a full-fledged assault that came from the air, sea, and ground, with thousands of missiles fired from Gaza. The aftermath left the streets of cities strewn with hundreds of bodies, and buildings lay in ruins.

During the attack, Ms. Boni sustained injuries, and she found herself in a perilous situation with a Hamas gunman closing in on her hiding place, as reported by the Israeli news outlet Ynet.

In a remarkable act of courage and determination, she managed to find temporary shelter and sent a series of text messages to her family. In her messages, she expressed her deep concern for her loved ones and informed them about her head injury. She also conveyed the immediate threat she was facing, stating, “I have a head injury, and a terrorist nearby might start shooting at me. I am currently with an injured soldier from the Golani Brigade, and there are no reinforcements available.”

In subsequent updates, she continued to provide details of the harrowing situation, mentioning the presence of a persistent terrorist and the distressing sounds of someone in need of medical assistance.

Ms. Boni’s aunt shared with the media that her niece was stationed at the entrance to the military base when the attack unfolded. She recounted the timeline of events, noting that Naama was still communicating about the danger around 7:30 a.m. Eventually, she stopped responding to messages.

Desperate to ascertain her condition, her family members made efforts to reach her but were met with uncertainty. They were later informed that she had been hospitalized at Brazilai Medical Center, yet no information about her condition was provided.

Naama Boni’s family clung to the hope that she was still alive, but their hopes were shattered when an official notification arrived at her parents’ home. Ms. Boni’s aunt, Ms. Ilook, expressed the painful realization that Naama had become a tragic statistic.

Born in the city of Afula, Naama Boni had enlisted in the Israeli army just seven months before these devastating events unfolded. Her bravery and determination in the face of danger stand as a testament to the sacrifices made by soldiers like her during times of conflict.
