At least 30 Palestinians, including women and children, were killed in Israeli airstrikes on the town of Beit Lahia in northern Gaza, according to reports by the Palestinian news agency WAFA on Saturday. The shelling targeted a residential area with at least five houses in the densely populated town.
Local residents told Xinhua that the destruction and ongoing hostilities have severely restricted access for Civil Defence and medical teams, forcing community members to transport casualties on foot or with donkey carts.

The Israeli army has not yet commented on the incident, as reported by Xinhua.
The bombing forms part of a broader Israeli military operation against Hamas in Gaza. The offensive began in response to a Hamas attack on southern Israel on October 7, which resulted in the deaths of approximately 1,200 people and saw around 250 taken hostage.
According to Gaza health authorities, the Palestinian death toll from continued Israeli airstrikes has reached 42,924 as of Saturday.
