Iran’s Supreme Leader Threatens ‘Teeth-Breaking Response’ to Israel, US Actions

Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei vowed a “teeth-breaking response” against Israel and the US for their actions against Iran and what he calls the “resistance front,” according to his official website.

Speaking in Tehran, Khamenei warned that both nations would face punishment for their military actions against Iran and allied groups across West Asia. “The enemies… will undoubtedly receive a teeth-breaking response,” he stated, adding that Iran is prepared with military, political, and logistical measures to counter “global arrogance,” a term often used to describe the US and its allies.

The Supreme Leader Khamenei also criticized US support for Israeli operations in Gaza and Lebanon, calling it a display of “American hypocrisy” on human rights.

The Israel Defense Forces recently announced targeted airstrikes on sites in Iran in response to alleged attacks, with Iran’s air defense claiming it intercepted most strikes, limiting the damage. The tense exchanges follow escalating confrontations since Hamas’ October 7 attacks and the subsequent Israeli actions in Gaza, as well as continued hostilities between Israel and Hezbollah in southern Lebanon.

Khamenei’s statements come a week after Israel’s latest airstrikes on Iran, which were themselves a response to missile fire on Israel attributed to Iranian forces earlier in October.
