Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian on Thursday declared that cooperation between independent nations like Iran and Russia marks the end of the global unipolar order.
He made the remarks during his meeting with visiting Russian Energy Minister Sergei Tsivilev in Tehran.
Pezeshkian said nations can achieve growth without depending on unilateral powers. He expressed optimism about ongoing cooperation with Russia and called for faster implementation of bilateral agreements.
According to Tasnim News Agency, Pezeshkian highlighted the determination of both countries to realise projects in transportation, energy, and power generation.
He urged ministers and technical teams to turn expert-level discussions into actionable results.
The Iranian President voiced hope that continued diplomatic exchanges with Russia would strengthen bilateral relations. He also asked Tsivilev to convey his warm greetings to Russian President Vladimir Putin.
In response, Tsivilev conveyed Putin’s greetings and outlined the progress of his meetings with Iranian officials. He reaffirmed Russia’s readiness to implement bilateral agreements swiftly and insisted that no sanctions or external pressure could derail trade and economic cooperation between the two nations.
Earlier this month, President Putin met Pezeshkian on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Summit in Tianjin, China.
