Iran Targets ‘Israeli Intelligence Sites’ In Tel Aviv; Israel Retaliates With Strikes In Western Iran

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) carried out strikes on ‘key Israeli intelligence sites’ in Tel Aviv, including military intelligence and Mossad facilities.

Meanwhile, the Israeli Air Force said it launched a new wave of airstrikes in western Iran on Tuesday.

As per the Iranian media, the IRGC said its Aerospace Force conducted an ‘effective operation’ in the early hours, which penetrated Israel’s ‘highly advanced air defence systems, according to Iranian state media.

Moreover, Iran’s Aerospace Force claimed the strikes specifically targeted the Israeli army’s Aman headquarters and a facility used for planning ‘assassination operations attributed to the Mossad’.

Israel confirms airstrikes in Western Iran

In retaliation, the Israeli Air Force launched a wave of airstrikes in western Iran, targeting surface-to-surface missile launchers and other strategic locations.

The Israeli military stated that its aircraft continue to operate in Iranian airspace to locate and neutralise threats directed at Israeli cities.

“These strikes are part of ongoing operations to protect the Israeli home front,” the Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) said in an official statement.

Top Iranian commander killed in Israeli strike

The exchange of fire escalated after Israel confirmed that it had eliminated Iran’s top military commander, Ali Shadmani, in an overnight airstrike on a command centre in central Tehran.

Shadmani had assumed the role just four days earlier, replacing Gholam Ali Rashid, who was also killed in an Israeli attack last week.

Earlier on Tuesday, Iran launched a barrage of around 20 ballistic missiles toward Israel.

Several missiles struck central Israeli cities, including Herzliya, resulting in minor injuries and damage.

Xinhua News Agency cited initial assessments from the Israel Defence Forces confirming the scale of the Iranian attack.

The deadly aerial conflict has now entered its fifth consecutive day.

Iranian officials have reported 244 fatalities within Iran, while 24 people have died in Israel since the conflict erupted on Friday, following Israel’s surprise airstrikes across Iranian territory.
