Indo-Russian Ties At Risk! Fears Indian Media Analysts; See What Russian Ambassador Said

Tensions have increased in India since the Russia-China Summit in Moscow last week. China’s President, Xi Jinping met the Russian President, Vladimir Putin to discuss multiple global issues. The analysis made on the visit by Indian media feared that nation’s relations with Russia might be impacted by Chinese – Russian Summit.

Russian ambassador to India, Denis Alipov dismissed all such concerns by quoting it as “wishful thinking”, in his tweet.

Russia-China Summit Summarized

The visit was intended mainly towards ‘deepening the relations’ between the two powers, as stated by the leaders. The additional concern of discussion was about countering the world order that is being run by the US and its allies. Russia and China being communist countries by ideology tend to take a similar path to resolve certain issues.

The convention resulted in more than a dozen agreements related to various areas from trade and technology to state propaganda. Both leaders also said they “will build a closer energy partnership, supporting companies from both countries in advancing cooperation projects in oil, gas, coal, electricity and nuclear energy.” Moreover, the joint statement mentioned both nations would work together to promote “research and consultation” related to a “new China-Mongolia-Russia natural gas pipeline project.”

‘No Harm’ to Indo-Russian relations

India has a close association with Russia. Also, the two countries have backed each other to a great extent in the past. But concerns are rising after the China-Russia summit as Jinping was seen praising Putin over his “strong leadership”.

Clarifying the doubts arising, Denis Alipov tweeted, “Profusion of analysis these days of the outcomes of Xi Jinping’s Russia visit. The impression is that various reputable Indian experts almost dream of Russia-China ties harming Russia-India strategic alignment. A wishful thinking case in point!”. He is trying to clarify that there is harm to the Indo-Russian alliance because of the Russia-China meeting.
