An all-party Indian Parliamentary delegation, headed by Janata Dal (United) MP Sanjay Kumar Jha, visited Kuala Lumpur to engage with Malaysian political figures and strategic think-tanks, reinforcing India’s firm position on countering terrorism.
This diplomatic visit forms the final leg of a multi-nation tour aimed at enhancing India’s regional partnerships against cross-border terrorism.
In formal discussions with Malaysian parties and policy institutions, the delegation reiterated India’s zero-tolerance approach to terrorism in all its forms.
The Indian Embassy in Malaysia, via an official statement, underlined the national consensus in India on confronting terrorism with decisive and proportionate measures.
Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, India remains committed to strengthening strategic partnerships, such as with Malaysia, to address cross-border threats.
The Indian delegation met representatives of major Malaysian political parties, including the People’s Justice Party (PKR), led by Sim Tze Tzin, and the Democratic Action Party (DAP), represented by M Kula Segaran.
They also held key discussions with Saraswathy Kandasami, Malaysia’s Deputy Minister of National Unity.
These meetings focused on India’s proactive measures under ‘Operation Sindoor’, a strategic campaign addressing Pakistan-sponsored terrorism.
Additionally, the delegation met senior leaders from the Malaysian Indian Congress (MIC), including Tan Sri Dato Sri SA Vigneswaran and Datuk Seri M Saravanan.
The MIC leadership expressed full solidarity with India’s campaign against terrorism.
In a broader public outreach effort, the delegation interacted with prominent Malaysian institutions such as the Asia Europe Institute, Economic Club of Kuala Lumpur, and the Institute of Strategic and International Studies.
Detailed briefings were provided on the recent Pahalgam terror attack and India’s calibrated, non-escalatory responses.
A think-tank representative lauded the Indian contingent, describing the nine-member team as ‘Navaratnas’ and commending the cross-party unity.
The group included MPs from BJP, Trinamool Congress, Congress, CPI(M), and a former Indian ambassador.
Throughout the visit, India’s new strategic posture—emphasising no distinction between terrorists and their sponsors- was clearly articulated.
The delegation highlighted the principle that ‘Water and blood cannot flow together’, in reference to India’s suspended engagement under the Indus Waters Treaty.
This diplomatic initiative represents India’s unified, principled approach in the global fight against terrorism and underscores its commitment to strategic cooperation with key partners in Southeast Asia.
