Indian All-Party Delegation Arrives In Japan For Operation Sindoor Outreach

An all-party Indian parliamentary delegation, led by Janata Dal (United) MP Sanjay Kumar Jha, arrived in Tokyo on Thursday, kicking off India’s expansive diplomatic outreach as part of Operation Sindoor.

The campaign aims to expose Pakistan’s role in promoting cross-border terrorism.

Indian Delegation Comprises Diverse Political Leaders

The delegation includes BJP MPs Aparajita Sarangi and Brij Lal, Trinamool Congress MP Abhishek Banerjee, CPI(M) Rajya Sabha member John Barittas, and senior Congress leader Salman Khurshid, showcasing a unified political front.

After Japan, the delegation will continue high-level meetings in South Korea on May 24, Singapore on May 27, Indonesia on May 28, and Malaysia on May 31.

Indian Ambassador Welcomes Delegation

Indian Ambassador to Japan Sibi George welcomed the leaders upon arrival and outlined the strategic roadmap for engagements with Japanese government officials and civil society groups.

The visit centres on garnering international backing for India’s zero-tolerance policy toward terrorism, especially following the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam that claimed 26 civilian lives.

The Indian Embassy in Tokyo emphasised that “India’s unwavering stand against cross-border terrorism, as seen in Operation Sindoor, will be highlighted in all engagements.”

Sanjay Kumar Jha expressed optimism on social media, writing, “Ohayo gozaimasu, Nihon! Good morning, Japan! Happy to have landed with an all-party Indian delegation. We seek continued support in India’s fight against cross-border terrorism, especially after the Pahalgam attack.”

He added, “India’s measured response in Operation Sindoor showed our zero-tolerance approach. Japan and India stand united for peace and democratic values.”

Coordinated By MEA, Campaign Spans 33 Countries

The Ministry of External Affairs coordinates this global campaign with seven delegations of 59 leaders visiting 33 countries from May 21 to June 5.

Jha’s team covers East and Southeast Asia, while Shinde’s group visits the UAE, Congo, Sierra Leone, and Liberia.

Simultaneously, DMK leader Kanimozhi leads a delegation to Russia, Slovenia, Greece, Latvia, and Spain.

The campaign aims to unite India against terrorism and isolate Pakistan by exposing its terror support.

Engagements With Governments, Media & Diaspora

The MPs will meet foreign governments, legislators, media, civil society, the Indian diaspora, and international bodies like the United Nations.

They will present evidence of Pakistan backing terror groups like LeT and JeM and sheltering global terrorists.
