India Issues Safety Alert For Nationals In Israel As Rising Tensions With Iran

Israel-Iran Tensions: As tensions surge between Israel and Iran, the Indian Embassy in Tel Aviv has issued a strong advisory urging Indian citizens in Israel to remain cautious, limit travel, and follow local safety directives.

The alert follows a major escalation early Friday when Israel launched airstrikes on Iran, raising fears of a wider regional conflict.

Through a social media post, the Indian Embassy emphasised the need for Indian nationals to be alert and prepared.

Taking to X, the Embassy posted, “In view of the prevailing situation in the region, all Indian nationals in Israel are advised to stay vigilant and adhere to the safety protocols as advised by the Israeli authorities and home front command (oref.org.il/eng). Please exercise caution, avoid unnecessary travel within the country and stay close to safety shelters.”

The Embassy also encouraged citizens to monitor official updates and stay in touch in case of emergencies.

The advisory comes as Israel declared a special state of emergency following what officials called a ‘preemptive strike’ on Iran.

Reports of explosions emerged in Tehran, and Israel tightened security across the country.

Tensions have been building due to growing concerns about Iran’s nuclear ambitions and its threat perception from Israel’s standpoint.

In a national broadcast, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu confirmed the military action.

“This operation will continue as long as it takes to complete the task of fending off the threat of annihilation against us,” he stated, calling it a ‘targeted military operation’.

Defence Minister Israel Katz backed the move, calling it a necessary ‘preemptive strike’. He confirmed the state of emergency to bolster national readiness. The measure also aims to protect civilians.

The situation remains volatile, as Indian authorities and the international community closely monitor developments.
