Late Tuesday night, Hezbollah launched a series of Katyusha rockets at Mount Neria, the battalion headquarters of Israel’s Golani Brigade forces.
The attack, reported by state media, targeted a key Israeli military installation.
Earlier in the day, Hezbollah fired over 20 rockets from southern Lebanon towards Israel’s Meron base in the north, as confirmed by both al-Manar and Al Jazeera.
The rocket fire was accompanied by heavy explosions and sirens in Western Galilee, as reported by Al-Manar.
The Lebanese group also announced that it struck an Israeli deployment at Jal Al-Deir with a barrage of rockets around 10 PM on Tuesday.
According to the National News Agency (NNA), the attack caused significant damage.
In retaliation, Israeli warplanes conducted airstrikes on multiple Lebanese villages, including At Tiri, Haddatha, Rchaf, Kafr Kila, and Khiam, as well as the municipality of Kunin.
These strikes reportedly occurred around midnight, targeting areas linked to Hezbollah.
The border tensions between Lebanon and Israel intensified on 8 October 2023, following a rocket barrage by Hezbollah in support of Hamas’ recent attack on Israel.
Israel’s response included heavy artillery fire towards southeastern Lebanon.
The situation further escalated after an Israeli airstrike on Dahieh, a suburb of Beirut, which resulted in the death of Hezbollah senior military commander Fouad Shokor and seven civilians.
Hezbollah Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah has vowed a severe and strategic response to the Israeli actions, promising retaliation at a future time and place.
