Ukrainian Significance of Putin’s Speech On the Ongoing War

The oration by the Russian President is being considered too serious and speculation out of the words and expressions are being figured out post the February 21st speech by Vladimir Putin.

Putin’s speech after his motorcade journey to Kremlin from Moscow itself clarified that there is going to be some big announcement during the speech of the president. His speech on Russia-Ukraine war has its significance since it was expected to be a sharp reply to Jelenski-Biden duo with a grave message to the rest of the world who directly or indirectly are standing with Ukraine.

Addressing both houses of Russia’s parliament, President Putin gave an assessment of the war, which is about to complete its one year within next three days. Coming a day after US President visited Ukraine, Putin’s speech was being watched worldover just for catching the indications as to what the second year of the war is going to hold.

In his speech, President Vladimir Putin updated Russia’s elite on many un-answered querries. Putin’s speech was mainly delivered to members of both houses of parliament and to military commanders and soldiers.

“In this difficult, watershed moment for our country, I am making this address. Irreversible changes around the world are being witnessed and historic events are going to shape the future of Russia and the Russian people when all the citizens bear a colossal responsibility.”

“Step by step, consistently and carefully, Russia will resolve the tasks it is facing. Since 2014, the Donbas people had been defending their right to live on their own land, fighting to speak their native language. They bravely fought and they believed and expected Russia to come to their rescue. Russia tried to solve this problem peacefully. After patiently trying to negotiate a peaceful way, a completely different scenario has come up from behind our backs.”

“Many times I have been saying this that the people of Ukraine were like the hostage of the Kyiv regime holding its Western overlords on the head. Their effective occupation of this country in the political, military and economic sense is not at all acceptible.”
