‘Attackers of 26/11 still roaming free in your country’ says Javed Akhtar in Pakistan

Bollywood lyricist Javed Akhtar was in Pakistan to attend Faiz Festival lately. In his speech, during the function, he reminded, – ’26/11 plotters are still roaming around in your country.’

A guest at the literary festival in Pakistan, the writer-lyricist is being lauded for taking a bold stance on the terror debate. In his speech, Javed also called for the end of the cold war between India and Pakistan. Earning rousing applause from the audience He kept going on saying, “We in India organize big concerts of Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan and others, but your country has never organized a Lata Mangeshkar concert.”

While interacting with people, one of the admirers asked Javed Akhtar, “You visit Pakistan so often… When you go back to India from here, do you tell your people that Pakistanis are good people, they don’t just bomb us but also greet us with love and garlands?”

Javed Akhtar with a wise tone replied, “We should not blame each other. the issue cannot be solved this way.” Over the subject of 26/11 terror attack, Javed said, “I belong to Mumbai. All of us know about the Mumbai attacks. The attackers were not from Egypt or Norway. They are still roaming scot-free in your country. Therefore, if Indians are carrying that anger in their hearts, you also should empathize with it.”

There are a few more videos showing the star surrounded by admirers and reminiscing old days also delivering dialogues from some of his old films. The online clip also displays Ali Zafar singing a song in the movie Silsila- “Yeh kahan aa gaey hum” .
