Gaza war death toll reaches 11240

Following more than five weeks of combat between Israel and Hamas operatives, Gaza’s Hamas government said on Monday that the death toll from the current conflict had reached 11,240.

According to the authorities, 4,630 children and 3,130 women were killed, with another 29,000 people injured.

Separately, the Hamas-run health ministry reported scores of bodies on the streets of northern Gaza, where the most intense fighting was taking place, and that ambulances were coming under Israeli fire as they attempted to remove them.
