Prime Minister Narendra Modi received a warm welcome from French President Emmanuel Macron upon arriving in Evian, France, to participate in the G7 Summit on Tuesday.
The two leaders greeted each other warmly and shared an embrace ahead of the summit’s outreach session, which will also feature US President Donald Trump and other global leaders.
Upon reaching Evian, PM Modi expressed enthusiasm about engaging with world leaders and discussing major international issues.
Taking to X, PM Modi posted, “Reached Evian, France for the G7 Summit. Looking forward to engaging with world leaders and exchanging views on key global issues. India remains committed to advancing collective efforts for a more sustainable and prosperous planet.”

PM Modi attended the summit at the invitation of President Macron.
India’s presence marks its 13th participation in the G7 and PM Modi’s seventh consecutive appearance at the forum.
Before arriving in France, PM Modi stopped in Geneva, where Swiss President Guy Parmelin received him at the airport.
According to MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal, both leaders exchanged cordial greetings and reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening India-Switzerland relations.
During the summit, PM Modi will participate in discussions on rebuilding international solidarity, fostering balanced and sustainable growth, and ensuring the safe and efficient deployment of artificial intelligence. He will also hold bilateral meetings with several world leaders.
Following the summit, PM Modi will travel to Paris for bilateral engagements, attend the VivaTech Summit, and interact with members of the Indian community.
