Attack on Pakistan Air Force base in Punjab Province results in damage to three aircraft

The Pakistan Army reported that early this morning, heavily armed terrorists damaged three grounded aircraft during an attack on a Pakistan Air Force training site in the Punjab province.

The Pakistan Army announced in a statement that terrorists assaulted the Pakistan Air Force’s Mianwali Training Air Base, but soldiers foiled the attack by killing three of the attackers and encircling three others.

“However, during the attack, some damage to three already grounded aircraft and a fuel bowser also occurred”, the statement went on to say.

It stated that three of the terrorists had been neutralized while entering the base while the remaining three terrorists had been cornered/isolated due to timely and effective response by the troops.

It went on to say that a comprehensive joint clearance and combing operation is nearing completion to completely clear the region.

“Pakistan Armed Forces remain committed to eliminating the menace of terrorism from the country at all costs”, the statement added.

The attack came only hours after a spate of terror attacks in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa killed at least 17 soldiers.
