As Ukrainian Drone Attacks Increase, 2 Russian Airport Suspend Flights

Due to a suspected drone flying in the region, the airspace over Moscow’s Vnukovo airport was briefly closed on Friday, with all arrivals and departures suspended.

“For reasons beyond the control of the airport, temporary restrictions on the landing and take-offs of aircraft were implemented in Vnukovo”, the airport said.

“For safety reasons, some of the flights were redirected to other airports of the Moscow aviation hub”, it continued, without adding anything else.

In recent weeks, there has been a spate of drone attacks in the Moscow area that Russia has blamed on Ukraine.
