Acharya Lokesh Discusses India-US Ties, Spiritual Journey, & Global Recognition In ITV GOLD Interview

Acharya Lokesh Muni, the renowned Jain Acharya and global peace ambassador, gave a heartfelt interview to US-based television channel ITV GOLD.

Known for his work in promoting non-violence, interfaith harmony, and Indian values abroad, Acharya Lokesh spoke openly about a range of topics, from the depth of India-US relations to his spiritual milestones.

In the interview, Acharya Lokesh highlighted the growing friendship between India and the United States.

He praised both nations for upholding democratic values and said their cooperation plays a vital role in global peace and development.

The spiritual leader also appreciated the contribution of the Indian diaspora in strengthening these bilateral ties.

Acharya Lokesh recalled his spiritual beginnings, sharing how he took bal diksha (initiation as a child monk) and later vriddh diksha (monastic vows as an adult).

His words gave listeners a rare insight into the disciplined and value-driven life of a Jain monk. Speaking about his own diksha, he described it as a conscious decision to devote his life to peace, truth, and service to humanity.

Remembering Acharya Tulsi’s Legacy

For the first time in such an international forum, Acharya Lokesh spoke about Acharya Tulsi, the visionary Jain leader who laid the foundation for Anuvrat, an ethical movement rooted in non-violence and moral living. He credited Acharya Tulsi’s teachings for shaping his path and guiding his efforts to spread Jain philosophy across the world.

One of the highlights of the interview was Acharya Lokesh’s reaction to receiving the American Presidential Award. He called it not just a personal honour but a tribute to Indian spiritual values and the philosophy of Jainism.

The award, he said, recognises efforts to promote global peace, dialogue between cultures, and universal compassion.

Acharya Lokesh used the platform to urge people around the world to adopt the values of ahimsa (non-violence), truth, and harmony in daily life.

He emphasised that these principles are not just religious ideals but tools for sustainable global peace and societal well-being.

Acharya Lokesh concluded by expressing hope that the India-US relationship would continue to flourish through shared ideals. He pledged to keep working towards a more peaceful, ethical, and inclusive world, bridging cultures through dialogue and compassion.
