Fifteen crew members from an Iranian container vessel detained by the United States have now arrived back in Iran, according to reports from Iranian media.
The ship, identified as the M/V Touska, intercepted in April near the port of Chabahar, located along the Gulf of Oman.
US naval forces boarded the vessel after it allegedly attempted to pass through a blockade imposed on Iranian-linked shipping routes.
Iranian news agencies reported the initial detention of 28 crew members. Six secured release earlier, and the latest group returned in recent days, leaving a small number still unaccounted for publicly.
The seizure took place in the context of heightened maritime restrictions introduced by Washington following unsuccessful diplomatic talks held earlier in Islamabad.
The measures have focused on limiting vessel movements connected to Iran through critical waterways, including the Strait of Hormuz.
According to reporting by The Wall Street Journal, the Touska is associated with a shipping network operating routes to Chinese ports, including Zhuhai. The vessel had reportedly docked there twice shortly before its interception.
US authorities have not disclosed the nature of the cargo onboard.
Analysts, however, cited in reports suggest the ship may have been carrying materials considered sensitive, given its link to a sanctioned Iranian company allegedly tied to missile-related logistics.
The boarding operation reportedly followed a warning fire that disabled the vessel before US forces took control.
Observers note that the decision to attempt passage through an active naval blockade indicates the shipment may have held particular strategic importance.
The incident underscores continuing tensions over maritime access and enforcement measures in the region, with no immediate resolution in sight.
