1 Killed, Multiple Injured In Shooting In Paris

On Saturday, prosecutors and the mayor stated that a gunshot in a gritty northern Paris suburb overnight killed one person and injured six others.

According to the prosecutors, the attack occurred at 11:45 p.m. (2145 GMT) Friday in a parking lot outside a cultural centre in Sevran, which is located between central Paris and the city’s main airport Charles de Gaulle.

When authorities arrived at the site, they discovered four injured victims strewn on the ground.

“One died soon after and the three others were taken to hospitals in serious condition”, police continued.

Police went on to say, “Three more people injured by bullets were later taken to hospital”, adding that two males arrived in the parking lot in a car, one of whom got out and began the fire.

The attackers fled.

Sevran mayor Stephane Blanchet said, “It was clearly a settling of scores linked to drug trafficking”.

Blanchet went on to say, “There is a need to establish order and eradicate trafficking”.

“Those idiots fired live bullets and did not heed appeals for calm”, Blanchet added.

Police have launched an investigation into an organized gang’s intended homicide.

There had been no arrests by Saturday morning.
