The Yogi Adityanath government is preparing the Uttar Pradesh Police for a compassionate and people-centric role during Maha Kumbh 2025. With an estimated 40 crore devotees expected, the police will focus on safety and kindness while incorporating new technologies.
The UP Police have launched a 21-day training program at the Sankalp Training Pandal in Prayagraj. The training, which runs until December, emphasizes both security and soft skills. Officers are being trained to assist pilgrims with information on routes, accommodations, and transport. They are also learning how to interact respectfully with sadhus and sanyasis attending the event.
AI tools, including the Bhashini app, will help police communicate with foreign tourists. Chatbots are also being introduced to assist devotees during the event. The training program stresses gender sensitization, preparing male officers to assist women in the large crowds. Water safety is another focus, with special units trained to prevent accidents and ensure safe bathing at the Sangam.
The UP Police aim to make Maha Kumbh 2025 a safe and memorable event, following CM Yogi’s vision of a grand religious gathering.
