At a ceremony in Indira Gandhi Pratisthan, he highlighted that smartphones pose significant challenges for today’s youth, affecting their time and effort. The CM encouraged players to engage in sports and assured them that the government is creating a supportive environment.
Adityanath recognized 14 Olympians and Paralympians, distributing a total of ₹22.70 crore in prize money. Notable medal winners included Praveen Kumar, Suhas LY, Ajit Singh, Preeti Pal, Simran, Lalit Upadhyay, and Raj Kumar Pal.
The Chief Minister discussed the positive changes in India’s sports environment. He outlined Uttar Pradesh’s sports infrastructure, which includes 84 stadiums, 67 multi-purpose halls, and multiple synthetic facilities. The government aims to construct playgrounds and gyms in all 57,000 gram panchayats and mini stadiums in every development block.
To support athletes, the state government is appointing former elite players as trainers and has established the Eklavya Sports Cell. The first sports university named after Major Dhyanchand is also under construction in Meerut. The CM announced awards for outstanding players and financial assistance for national-level awardees. He concluded by reaffirming the government’s commitment to promoting sports and empowering athletes across the state.
