Shubman Gill IND vs NZ: Records in cricket are made only to be broken. In December last year, left-handed batsman Ishaan Kishan scored a  century against Bangladesh and became the youngest (24 years) batsman to score a double century in ODI cricket. It was expected that this record of Kishan would remain for a long time because it is not easy to score a double century in ODIs. But it is said that cricket is a game of uncertainties, Just 39 days after Ishaan Kishan’s record double century, his record has been broken by Shubman Gill.

Shubman Gill dominated by scoring a double century

In the first match of the three ODI series being played in Hyderabad against New Zealand, 23-year-old Gill has become the youngest player to score a double century in just 145 balls. Gill played a blistering inning of 208 runs in 149 balls in just 19 fours and 9 brilliant sixes. This was Gill’s second consecutive and third ODI century.

Gill became the youngest batsman to score a double century in ODI cricket by completing 1000 runs in his 19th ODI innings, equaling former Pakistani captain Inzamam-ul-Haq’s record of 1000 runs in 19 matches. Now he is in second place with Inzamam in terms of making the fastest 1000 runs in ODIs. In first place is Fakhar Zaman of Pakistan. Gill has become the fastest batsman to score 1000 runs from India in ODI cricket.
