Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday expressed strong confidence that the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) would register a sweeping victory in the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections.
The Prime Minister will launch the BJP’s campaign from Samastipur, the birthplace of Bharat Ratna Karpoori Thakur, where he will likely pay homage to the late socialist icon.
In a post on a social media platform, PM Modi paid tribute to Karpoori Thakur, recalling his contribution to social justice and inclusive governance.
He said it would be his honour to offer floral tributes to the revered leader.
It was under the Modi government that Karpoori Thakur received the Bharat Ratna, India’s highest civilian honour, in recognition of his lifelong service to the poor and marginalised.
A former Chief Minister of Bihar, Thakur, remembered as a champion of backward and Dalit communities, whose progressive policies, including reservations for backward classes, left a lasting imprint on the state’s social fabric.
In his message, the Prime Minister shared that he would address two large public rallies during his visit to the poll-bound state.
Highlighting the growing public support, PM Modi said, “The enthusiasm and excitement of the people of Bihar—the masses—indicate that the BJP-NDA is set to achieve a resounding victory in this time’s assembly elections as well.”
Alongside the Samastipur rally on Friday, the Prime Minister will hold additional public meetings in Muzaffarpur and Chhapra on 30 October.
Meanwhile, Union Home Minister Amit Shah will likely address two major rallies the same day, one in Siwan and another in Buxar, as part of the party’s coordinated election outreach.
The BJP’s state unit has, however, finalised all arrangements for the high-profile visits, with local party workers mobilised to ensure large-scale participation at the rallies.
The joint appearances of PM Modi and Amit Shah are likely to intensify the campaign atmosphere in Bihar and give the NDA a strong momentum ahead of polling.
Bihar will vote in two phases, on 6 and 11 November, with results announced on 14 November.
