You would have seen a lot of GolGappa lovers, but to protest over two GolGappas is not everyone’s cup of tea.
A video of a woman is trending all over social media and has caught everyone’s attention within minutes. A media outlet posted the video on X.
This chaotic incident took place in Vadodara, Gujarat, where a woman was seen protesting by sitting in the middle of the road over ‘GolGappas’. She had paid 20 rupees for a total of six GolGappas, but instead she received only four.
Something suddenly got into her head, and she randomly just sat in the middle of the road without even uttering a word.
The incident created chaos and traffic near the iconic gold-plated Shiva statue in Sursagar Pond. The pedestrians nearby contacted ‘Dial 112’, and the officials tried to convince her for hours, but she didn’t move an inch.
She cried and cried in front of the police officials, telling them her story of GolGappas, and demanded her remaining GolGappas. The police officials handled the situation smoothly with a lot of patience and were able to convince her to move aside.
However, the incident shows the cultural significance of GolGappa, a very popular street food in India and underlines the emotional attachment people have.
