Delhi Weather Today: IMD Predicts Cloudy Skies And Light Rain On Sunday

Delhi is expected to experience generally cloudy skies and light rainfall on Sunday as monsoon conditions continue across the national capital, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

The IMD has forecast spells of very light to light rain at isolated places from the forenoon to the afternoon, followed by another round of light showers during the night.

The weather department said the city would remain under cloudy skies throughout the day.

On Sunday morning, Delhi recorded a temperature of 29 degrees Celsius, while humidity stood at 87 per cent, making conditions feel significantly warmer with an apparent temperature of 36 degrees Celsius.

The IMD has predicted a maximum temperature of around 34 degrees Celsius, along with scattered thunderstorms and light rain later in the day. It also expects monsoon activity to intensify during the week, bringing heavier rainfall and thunderstorms across the city.

Intermittent showers will provide relief from the heat, but high humidity will keep conditions uncomfortable between spells of rain.

On Saturday, the national capital recorded a slight rise in daytime temperatures despite receiving trace rainfall in some areas.

The Safdarjung weather station registered a maximum temperature of 35 degrees Celsius, 0.6 degrees above normal, while the minimum settled at 27.9 degrees Celsius, 0.8 degrees above the seasonal average.

At Palam, the maximum temperature reached 34 degrees Celsius, up 0.5 degrees from the previous day, while the minimum temperature stood at 25.6 degrees Celsius, marginally lower than Friday’s reading.

The IMD expects monsoon conditions to persist over the coming days, bringing widespread showers and thunderstorms that will provide periodic relief from the heat across Delhi.
