Delhi Weather: Cloudy Skies, Rain Likely On Wednesday As IMD Forecasts Showers Till August 17

Delhi and adjoining areas of the National Capital Region are likely to witness cloudy skies and intermittent rainfall on Wednesday, providing some respite from humid weather.

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the national capital is expected to record a minimum temperature of around 29 degrees Celsius and a maximum of nearly 36 degrees Celsius.

Cloudy skies, accompanied by light rain or drizzle, are forecast across the city.

Rainfall activity is expected to continue in Delhi until 17 August. Moderate showers may occur during the afternoon, evening and night, while winds are likely to remain light and predominantly northerly.

Neighbouring Noida and Ghaziabad may receive heavy showers accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning.

Overcast conditions and rainfall are also expected in Faridabad and Gurugram for much of the day.

The Southwest Monsoon remains active across several parts of the country, including Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.

Enhanced monsoon activity may bring widespread rainfall to northern, western and central India.

Very heavy rain is forecast in parts of eastern Rajasthan. Haryana, Chandigarh, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, western Uttar Pradesh, western Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat and Odisha may also experience intense showers.

Isolated heavy rainfall is possible in Uttarakhand, Chhattisgarh, western Rajasthan and several northeastern states.

Delhi’s overall air quality remained in the ‘poor’ category.

Anand Vihar recorded the highest Air Quality Index (AQI) at 214. Most other monitoring stations reported satisfactory to moderate levels, including Pusa at 83, Chandni Chowk at 98, North Campus at 105, RK Puram at 102, ITO at 89 and Patparganj at 73.
