Tata Sierra EV Launch Tomorrow: Expected Price, Range, Features And Specs

Tata Motors is launching the Sierra EV tomorrow. First shown as a concept at the 2020 Auto Expo.

Industry experts expect the midsize SUV to share much of its technology with the Harrier EV while carrying forward the Sierra’s distinctive design.

Tata Motors is expected to equip the Sierra EV with its ACTI EV+ platform and 65kWh and 75kWh battery packs, although it has yet to confirm the final specifications.

Tata Motors has already confirmed rear-wheel-drive and dual-motor all-wheel-drive variants for the Sierra EV, reserving the AWD setup for the larger 75 kWh battery pack.

The Sierra EV will most likely offer a longer claimed driving range than the Harrier EV despite using the same battery packs, thanks to its smaller size.

For reference, the Harrier EV delivers a claimed range of up to 627km.

The Sierra EV largely mirrors the ICE version’s design but features EV-specific touches, including a blanked-off grille and a revised front bumper. It retains the upright silhouette, connected LED lighting, signature rear glass design and 19-inch alloy wheels, while likely introducing exclusive colour options.

Tata Motors expects the Sierra EV to share the ICE version’s cabin layout with minor EV-specific updates.

Higher variants will feature a triple-screen setup, including a 10.25-inch instrument cluster, a 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen, and a 12.3-inch passenger display, while lower variants will likely offer a dual-screen configuration.

Additional features include a panoramic sunroof, a head-up display, powered and ventilated front seats, a premium audio system, and multiple drive modes.

Tata is reportedly going to price the Sierra EV between ₹18 lakh and ₹25 lakh (ex-showroom), where it will rival the Mahindra BE 6, Hyundai Creta Electric, MG ZS EV and Maruti e-Vitara.
