Lava Launches SHARK 2 With 5000mAh Battery And 6.7-Inch Display In India

Lava has expanded its smartphone range in India with the launch of the Lava SHARK 2 4G. The device is a successor to the original Lava SHARK and targets budget-conscious users as well as content creators.

The SHARK 2 sports a 6.7-inch HD+ LCD display with a 120Hz refresh rate, slightly larger than the 6.67-inch screen of its predecessor. Lava offers the smartphone in two colours: Eclipse Grey and Aurora Gold.

Photography enthusiasts will find a 50MP main rear camera and an 8MP front camera, designed for photos, short videos, and vlogs. Lava has redesigned the rear camera layout to give the device a modern look.

Powering the phone is a Unisoc T7250 processor, an upgrade from the T606 chip used in the previous model. The SHARK 2 features 4GB of RAM, expandable with an additional 4GB of virtual RAM, and 64GB of internal storage. Lava says this ensures smooth multitasking and daily app performance. The device supports dual SIM 4G connectivity.

Battery life is a highlight, with a 5,000mAh cell supporting 10W standard charging and 18W fast charging via USB Type-C. The phone also carries an IP54 rating for protection against dust and splashes.

The SHARK 2 runs on Android 15 and will receive one OS update along with two years of security patches. Lava continues its at-home service initiative, allowing users to access doorstep repairs in addition to in-store support.

Lava has priced the SHARK 2 at Rs. 6,999 for the 4GB RAM and 64GB storage variant. The smartphone is now available across India through Lava’s retail network.

With its larger display, enhanced camera, and robust battery, the Lava SHARK 2 aims to strengthen the company’s presence in the budget smartphone segment while catering to everyday users and creators.
